The Future We Ask For
Don Davis is a retired minister and author, Lewisville, North Carolina, USA
What if we had some universal qualities that are so basic they could be used as word tools to define who we are and how we plan our lives.
What identity profile can we embrace that will guide us so our best dreams will have the best chance to happen in the future we ask for?
In our digital-molecular age, we are crossing a great divide from an authority-based religion, informed by early civilization stories, accumulating tradition, and sacred texts, to a knowledge-based faith, informed by science, technology, and the Big Ten universal qualities. The Big Ten universal qualities include: kindness, caring, honesty, respect, collaboration, tolerance, fairness, integrity, diplomacy, and nobility. These make us a member of the Big Ten Generation.
Highlights
Participants will leave this session with an understanding of:
• A vision of the future is more important than our reference to the past.
• We are partners-in-progress with the oneness of all molecular existence, where the future we would like to see is up to us to shape.
