Julie Friedman Steele

Chair, Board of Directors, and Interim Executive Director

Julie is a social entrepreneur, with a background in entertainment, science, and structured finance. Intel recently named her as one of America’s Greatest Makers in their new online series for her work as CEO and Founder of The 3D Printer Experience, working to realize the vision that digital manufacturing will change the world. She is passionate about emerging technology and accelerating its adoption to make complex technology accessible to all. Julie thrives at the cutting edge of disruption. The 3D Printer Experience is the only storefront venue in the country that combines a versatile event space with custom 3D printing services, education experiences, and a community-oriented futurist perspective.

Since launching 3DPX Julie has been named by The Chicago Tribune as a top 100 innovator in the City. She's garnered national and international media attention appearing in over 20 countries in print, radio, and television including The Today Show, Time Magazine, and a profile in Entrepreneur Magazine. She is also the published author of Encyclopedia Britannica's year in review on 3D Printing.

Julie is a regular keynote speaker and panelist including for TEDX, Unites States Patent and Trademark Office, IMTS, TechWeek, and Women in Technology to name a few. She also serves on the Advisory Board of The UN Women For Peace Association.

Prior to the The 3D Printer Experience (3DPX), she founded the company Hot Potato which created an International MPEG standard, to make all TV and Film video content searchable and indexable on the internet. Julie also produced and directed the Genesis Award winning documentary, Best Friend Forgotten starring actor David Duchovny and toured in stand-up comedy.

In college she studied biochemistry and molecular biology at Boston University, Music Synthesis at the famed Berklee College of Music, and Artificial Intelligence through Stanford University. 


Deborah Peacock

Treasurer, Board of Directors 

Deborah is President/CEO and Managing Partner at Peacock Myers, P.C., Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization representing over 1000 clients nationally and internationally. Deborah has a B.S. Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She is an attorney licensed in New Mexico, Colorado and New York; a Registered Patent Attorney, registered with U.S. Patent & Trademark Office; and a Registered Professional Engineer, registered in Colorado and New Mexico.

Deborah’s work has involved: 1) licensing the nicotine patch to a major pharmaceutical company; 2) representing aerospace companies, including Rocket Racing League (rocket racing through virtual tunnels), and Moon Express (a company who plans to land on the moon in 2017); and 3) strategically advising and working with start-up companies through acquisition. Deborah is involved with future thinking and future trends every day of her life by being involved in her clients’ inventions and technology.


Kyle Garman

Board of Directors 

As SVP & Managing Director, Digital Transformation, Kyle leads a global organization that works with CEOs and senior executives on strategic growth initiatives for SAP, the market leader in business management software. His team’s focus areas include AI, machine learning, IoT, block chain, mobility and quantum computing. 

Before joining SAP, Kyle was an early team member of two highly successful start-ups. The first was taken public by Goldman Sachs at a market capitalization of $2B and the second was acquired by a division of General Electric for $225M and later sold to Dun & Bradstreet.

Kyle is a member of the Board of Directors of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, a non-profit that has trained over 600,000 under-resourced high school students using a project-based curriculum centered on building a business plan. He is also a Venture Partner with NextGen Ventures and a Limited Partner with Bain Capital.

Kyle began his career in corporate strategy consulting at Bain & Co. where he focused on engagements in the technology industry. He holds an M.B.A. from Wharton and a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.



Jared Weiner

Secretary, Board of Directors 

Jared Weiner is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of The Future Hunters, one of the world’s leading futurist consulting firms. Jared evaluates emerging social, technological, economic, political, demographic and environmental trends in the global marketplace – and identifies the strategic implications (the “So what?”) of those trends for several of the most influential Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and public sector clients.

Prior to joining WEB, Jared held key marketing and corporate strategy positions with Zagat Survey (publishing/online media), MeadWestvaco (consumer packaging), Greenberg Traurig (legal), and RoperASW (market research). Jared also sits on American Express OPEN's Digital Advisory Board and the Advisory Board of the Young Luxury Marketers' Council. He frequently speaks about future trends for corporate and academic audiences, and has keynoted some of the world’s most prominent industry conferences with a focus on future-related issues. Recent keynotes include: Future Day (Turkish Futurists Association), Innovation Day (Poland), The Market Research Event (TMRE), The FUSE design conference, NetFinance, LogiPharma, The Front End of Innovation (FEI), TCEL (Total Customer Experience Leaders) and Media Insights & Engagement. Jared also served as event co-Chair and MC of the 2015 Foresight & Trends conference.

Jared holds a B.A. from the University of Rochester, and an M.B.A. from the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester.
