Futures Learning Section
Welcome to the Futures Learning Section home page. The Futures Learning Section is an emerging group committed to all forms of futures learning from traditional academic learning at all levels to profit and non-profit organizational futures training and beyond.
Overview. With the support of the World Future Society and guidance from interested attendees at 2006 Toronto Annual Meeting and the 2007 Minneapolis Meeting the Futures Learning Section has made progress in establishing several functional networks of learning professionals as well as resources for futures learning.
We're growing.
For now section membership is informal. Interest includes action. If you'd like stay in touch with the section network provide requested information on our interactive site.
Currently we're building action teams around areas of interest. The goals of these teams are to create learning products, networks and related outcomes.
Futuretakes editor, Dave Stein, has agree to set aside 2-3 pages in this excellent global magazine dedicated to learning. Contact Dave if you want to contribute.
The World Future Society has made this page to chronicle our growth.
The WFS 2008 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC will feature an "Educational Summit." While the final program is determined by the WFS conference staff we can make some suggestions through the action team headed by Yvonne Andres.

Practical insights?
At the very least the Section would set its sights on providing support to those who in any way seek to forward futures learning. So what might help them? Some possibilities include:
Presentation material
Learning Activities
Lessons/classes
Course/workshop modules and exercises
Training/Course syllabi
Degree programs
Cooperative and networked learning activities
Mutual support in learning
Ideas for this website? How can this website help you advance futures learning? Let Steve Steele know.
