Hello! Welcome to the new World Future Society Web site, the work of our art director Lisa Mathias and director of membership Jennifer Boykin. We're also unveiling a new logo reflecting the tremendous renewal we're experiencing at WFS. In the past few months, we've been sharing ideas with our members from around the world on how WFS can be of more value to them and to the general public. We want to do everything we do better, cover the future better through our critically-acclaimed magazine THE FUTURIST, and our journal World Future Review, host better and more events to bring futurists together, and expand our mission as a neutral clearing house of ideas about the future. We would love to hear your ideas on all of the above, or on the future in general. Is there an area of foresight, forecasting, or trend analysis that you think we're overlooking in our coverage, or is there some other way we can stay on top of the future better? Feel free to drop us a line at info@wfs.org. Thanks for your support. See you in the future!

future of centralized governments

I've always been a Democrat, but I believe the current socio-economic and political systems in both the United States and Europe are failing. Is there anyone in the World Futurist group that believes that the world will return to an agrarian subsistence society? Is there evidence for this? If so, our present educational system is, for all purposes, useless. The young will have to learn to survive without the goods and services made available by our present systems.

Kudos on the New Site

The new site looks stunning. I haven't had a chance to go through it all yet, but it gives me more of a sense of just how much WFS material is available online. Great job on the new logo too. As I've mentioned elsewhere, it's a very evocative design that coincides well with futurist themes.
