Special Volunteer Positions for WorldFuture 2012

In addition to room monitors, registration assistants, and other roles, we are looking for anyone with special skills who can help with our own coverage of the event.

Photographers: Take candid (not posed) shots of speakers (especially keynoters), audience members, exhibits and exhibitors, attendees between sessions, etc. Must be able to shoot discreetly (no flashes, no disruptions during sessions). Please make sure you identify your subjects, and bring your own camera capable of taking high-resolution images (at least 3,000 pixels wide).

Videographers: Record presentations of keynote and plenary sessions and other special events, such as Futurists:BetaLaunch exhibit opening. Please bring your own equipment, preferably digital.

Reporters: Write approximately 350- to 500-word reports about any sessions you attend (see the November-December 2010 and 2011 issues of THE FUTURIST for sample coverage). A limited number of volunteer reporters will be permitted to audit the Futurist Writers’ Workshop Master Course ($199 value).

Credits and bylines will be given for any volunteer’s contributions used by the World Future Society.

Please indicate your interest in these positions, along with links to samples of your work, when you submit your volunteer form to the conference director, Sarah Warner.
