Personal Futures: The New Workbook

Verne Wheelwright's picture

For some time, I’ve been working on an updated version of the Personal Futures workbook. I am just about ready to post the new edition (4th) at www.personalfutures.net. I’ve sent out some review copies to check for errors, but will have the new workbook posted by the 15th.

What’s new?

More color.
More photos.
A few more worksheets.
A section on futures wheels.

The chapters are re-organized to match up with my book:
It’s YOUR Future… Make it a Good One!

For those of you who are already using the Personal Futures Workbook, you’ll see a lot of visual difference and some change in content. If you are not familiar with this workbook, it is offered as a free download at my web site (above). It is distributed under a Creative Commons license, so you are free to share it with friends and family. The Workbook is formatted in PDF, which allows you to enter information on your computer and save. If you prefer you can print it out and enter information in the traditional manner.

Until this edition, I have provided my own photos for the Workbook, but for some life stages I just didn’t have enough suitable photos, so I went to Flickr.com and searched. I limited my search to photos that were available under a Creative Commons license and found some very good ones. All photographers are credited for their work in a block on the copyright page. Flickr is a great resource, but there are rumors that Yahoo is considering shutting the site down. Sad, because it is a great site.

In past Workbooks, I’ve had one or two photos to represent each life stage. In this edition, I’m using collages, many with a dozen photos, which gives a broader image of alife stage. Also uses a lot of photos!

Many of the changes in the Workbook are the result of suggestions by users, so if you would like to suggest a change or improvement, please let me know.

Speaking of suggestions, I have recently opened a fan page on Facebook for the Personal Futures Network. Please take a look and send me your ideas for how to make the page or the web site more interesting. I’ll look forward to hearing from you!
