Thirty years ago, China was isolated and depressed. Thirty years from now, barring bad luck or bad leadership, China will be a major power, highly integrated globally, and nearly fully developed. The purpose of this discussion is to contribute to a deeper understanding of China in order to enhance the China component of our outlooks for the twenty-first century and to provide advice on direction-setting decisions by governments and businesses. I will address three topics concerning how we should think about China: (1) What is China? (2) China and our common global agenda, and (3) China components of alternative scenarios for the twenty-first century.
Who should attend: Anyone with an interest in enhancing the China components of their outlooks and forecasts.
What you’ll learn: Attendees will learn key factors to consider in assessing China and its changing role in the world.
How this new knowledge can be applied: Everyone needs to be including China in their futures work.
