Interconnection and Crossroads: Labor Pains of a New Worldview

Interconnection in the future is unavoidable and undeniable. A new film called Crossroads: Labor Pains of a New Worldview offers a fresh perspective on the future of human experience. What I love about this film is that it challenges us to think about personal responsibility and interconnection. Instead of blaming an outside source for our problems this movie challenges us to look at ourselves and to our interconnection as a source of change.

Sustainability Expert Dave Sherman Phd talks about interdependency, risks interconnection maps (below) and interconnection. This is more important to our daily lives than anyone is willing to admit. However, if we can understand and study how interdependent we all are we may be able to tame this wild beast we call modern culture.

This beast has many vulnerable spots including climate change, water shortages, social inequality, and greed. They are all interconnected and unlike 20 years ago, the lag time from action to reaction is now remarkably fast. A picture of a corporation dumping toxic chemicals can be captured on a cell phone camera and within minutes it goes viral. A small local government protest can go global in a matter of hours. Our interconnection has never been so apparent.

The film gets into some really fascinating areas including, biocybernetics, closed system ideas, EGOlution, corporate ego drive, and consciousness just to name a few. Social anthropologist and psychotherapist Jairon G. Cuesta summed it up quite well "what we see in the world is a reflection of who we are." So true.

One of my favorite speakers in the film is theoretical quantum physicist Amit Goswami, PhD. I really admire his concepts on “science within consciousness.” This science within consciousness concept is going to be extremely relevant in the near future especially as well move toward A.I. and digital consciousness.

The message in the film is simple. We are one, and we are evolving. The people, governments and corporations that can grasp this reality and adjust accordingly will survive and thrive in the future. The ones that fight this reality will feel the gaze of a transparent collective consciousness that is locked in a quest for evolution. This transparent gaze will seek out injustice and inequality. It will crush greedy and environmentally sour corporations and governments. It will reward enlightened technologies and ideas and it will reward us with a beautiful abundant future.
